The Mission & Social Justice Team Focus for November
Mountain of Food - Collecting November 1 -29 for the Plattsburgh Interfaith Food Shelf
Our Mission focus for the month of November 2026 is the Plattsburgh Interfaith Food Shelf (housed in the Plattsburgh UMC).
Starting Sunday November 1st, please bring your donations to church and we will start building a MOUNTAIN OF FOOD in the Sanctuary! Donations will be collected through November 29th.
Guidelines for food donations:
- Due to limited refrigeration & freezer space, please donate non perishable food items only.
- Check expiration dates on all food items. Over 6 months expired is not appropriate to donate.
- Only commercially prepared items are accepted.
- Do not donate anything without a list of ingredients, recipients may have food allergies.
- For food safety; any opened, partially used or damaged item will not be accepted.
- If you would not consume the item – Please don’t donate it!

Joy of Giving
We all have ways that we give back to God and serve one another. All of us are called to contribute our time, our talent, and our treasures to what God is doing in the world. Here at Peru Community Church, we approach giving as an act of worship to our Creator and firmly believe that:
"You should each give as you have decided, not with regret or out of a sense of duty; for God loves the one who gives gladly."
