- Sustaining Worship for Future Generations -
Lifting Our Song Organ Campaign
Throughout the history of Peru Community Church, music has been at the heart of our worship. Week after week, season after season, music has helped us praise God, express our faith, and strengthen our life together.
Think back over your years in the church. Is there a hymn that has stayed with you throughout your life? Can you remember singing Silent Night by candlelight on Christmas Eve? The joyful sound of Christ the Lord Is Risen Today on Easter morning? For many of us, the sound of the organ is woven into some of the most meaningful moments of our lives. It has accompanied our prayers, celebrated our joys, comforted us in our grief, and reminded us that we never worship alone. Those memories are part of our story. They are also part of the reason we are writing to you today. As we give thanks for the past, we are also called to prepare for the future.
Our current organ has served Peru Community Church faithfully for many years, and we are grateful for all that it has meant to our congregation. However, it is aging and becoming increasingly difficult to maintain. At the same time, churches throughout our region are facing another significant challenge: the growing shortage of trained organists. Fewer musicians are available to serve churches on a regular basis, and many congregations—including ours—are asking the same question: How do we sustain meaningful worship for future generations?
That is why we are launching the Lifting Our Song Capital Campaign. The purpose of this campaign is to purchase and install an Allen Organ that will support worship for generations to come. After careful research, prayer, and conversation, we believe an Allen Organ offers the best combination of quality, reliability, flexibility, and long-term stewardship. Just as importantly, the new instrument will preserve the familiar appearance and beauty of our sanctuary while providing the technology needed to support worship well into the future.
Previous generations built this church, cared for this sanctuary, and invested in the worship life we enjoy today. Now it is our turn. Together, we can ensure that the song of faith continues to be heard in this place for generations to come. Thank you for your prayers, your generosity, and your continued commitment to the ministry of Peru Community Church. May God guide us as we honor the past, strengthen the present, and lift our song into the future.
Our Organ Fund Campaign begins on Sunday, August 16, 2026 and ends on Sunday, November 22, 2026.
